The Volvo V70, while somewhat slow from a stop, offers considerable handling prowess. The steering is both responsive and well weighted, making it an excellent option in the market segment. Body lean is very minor, even in hard turning and the powerful brakes are more than capable of bringing the car to a stop in a short distance. Ride quality is excellent and refined, reducing the number of bumps felt in the cabin. While it is not as smooth as luxury cars on the market, the V70 does offer a comfortable, enjoyable ride free of harshness. Wind noise is not problematic, though it is present at highways speeds. Road noise is likewise muted. Noise from the engine is refined and enjoyable, producing a throaty growl under hard acceleration.
