My Home Was An Empty Shell

11:25 am Home

I was so happy when my home insurance company paid for the entire rebuild after my home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Not too many salvageable items left. I temporarily moved to North Carolina and lived with relatives. I made the occasional trip back and forth from NC to New Orleans and stay with a friend in her trailer. This allowed me to overlook the construction of what was going to be my new home. I missed a lot of the items, many irreplaceable. Thankfully, my insurance salesperson made sure I had excellent coverage. The adjuster also did his best and ease the process, which was a pleasant surprise. I knew they were just as stressed as those that had lost their homes. I am now back in New Orleans, ready for a new beginning.
