Quilting: Amazing Facts

8:36 am Miscellaneous

Quilting of a material denotes mending of 2 or more of it into 1 designed piece of useful fabric. In quilting a filling layer is batted through a covering quilt top and backing bottom fabric. Quilting is achieved by hand stitching or with sewing and longarm quilt machines meant for that purpose.

Hand quilting is a needle and thread work where the former passes back and forth through the layers of fabric to form a quilt. In machine quilting, a sewing machine is used to tack stitch or pin the quilt fabric on either ends. The longarm quilting systems has made the process of quilting rather much easier and faster. My next post will be about, quilting.
