You can have an outstanding website that is promoting a great product, but if  there are no people viewing the website what good is it?  The best way to avoid this scenario is to get free backlinks that will direct people out there looking for the information you have on your website to your website.  There is a difference of opinion about how many backlinks are needed, but  it would be fair to say a substantial amount are needed.  You create these links by placing your website’s URL in articles, on blogs, on Squidoo lenses and Hubpages.  You can also participate in forums using your URL link as your signature.
